The monthly price falls as the plan gets longer because you pay for the whole term up front. The checkout screen also lists other billing options:

Is Premium worth it for Shorts?
Run the numbers on your own list. Premium's 100 monthly tokens finish 2 typical series. If you only care about one or two, the free episodes plus a single month may be enough. If you also want to generate your own 18+ images and videos, those are Premium benefits too; free users get a single image, per Candy's help center.
